In the epic the Odyssey there are a list of important character, that make this story an Epic.
Aeaea
was a mythological island said to be the home of the sorceress Circe. In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus tells Alcinous that he stayed here for a year on his way home to Ithaca.
Charybdis
Charybdis is one of the monsters Odysseus must pass with his men. Charybdis is a whirlpool that swallows the sea and vomits it back up again.
Circe
Odysseus and his men travel to Aeaea, home of the beautiful witch-goddess Circe. Circe drugs a band of Odysseus's men and turns them into pigs.
Erebus
Erebus is a place and person. Erebus is the dark area of the underworld where the dead reside. Erebus is also the Greek God of Darkness.
Lotus Eaters
Odysseus and his crew, having lost six men per ship. A storm sent by Zeus sweeps them along for nine days before bringing them to the land of the Lotus-eaters, where the natives give some of Odysseus's men the intoxicating fruit of the lotus
Scylla
Scylla is immortal and irresistible monsters who beset the narrow waters traversed by the hero Odysseus in his wanderings described in Homer's Odyssey.
Teireasias
A Theban prophet who inhabits the underworld. Tiresias meets Odysseus when Odysseus journeys to the underworld . He shows Odysseus how to get back to Ithaca and allows Odysseus to communicate with the other souls.
Thrinakia
The island were the sun god Helios keeps his cattle.
Alcinous
The King of the Phaeacians. According to Homer, Alcinous is the happy ruler of the Phaiacians in the island of Scheria.
Calypso
Calypso is remembered most for her role in Homer's Odyssey, in which she keeps the fabled Greek hero Odysseus on her island to make him her immortal husband. According to Homer, Calypso kept Odysseus prisoner at Ogygia for seven years.
Cicones
the winds sweep him and his men to Ismarus, city of the Cicones. The men plunder the land and, carried away by greed, stay until the reinforced ranks of the Cicones turn on them and attack. Odysseus and his crew finally escape, having lost six men per ship.
Cyclops
the Cyclops Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon. Polyphemus makes a show of hospitality at first, but he soon turns hostile. He devours two of Odysseus's men on the spot and imprisons Odysseus and the rest in his cave for future meals.
Eurylochus
Eurylochus was One of the Ithakans traveling with Odysseus on the way back from Troy. He is a cautious man, refusing to enter Circe’s hall even when accompanied by armed men. He’s also the brilliant mind.
Phaeacia
The Phaeacians are a people in Greek mythology who live on the island of Scheria, They're excellent mariners and skilled with all kinds of ocean activities, and are instrumental in Odysseus's return to Ithaca. They're very laid-back and helpful, and they listen to Odysseus's tale of his journey with rapt attention.
Sirens
These are the dangerous women who lure men to their deaths with their voices. Odysseus becomes the first mortal to live to tell the tale, because he has his men tie him to the mast while they plug their ears and sail on by.
